Datadog
Monitoring infrastructure, applications, and logs through a unified observability platform
Datadog is a cloud-based monitoring and observability platform that collects metrics, distributed traces, logs, and security signals from infrastructure, containers, and applications in a single interface. DevOps and platform engineering teams deploy Datadog agents to servers and containers to stream telemetry, then build dashboards, configure alerts, and investigate incidents using the aggregated data. The APM module traces requests across microservices to identify latency bottlenecks; the log management module provides indexed, searchable logs with direct correlation to metrics and traces; and the infrastructure view maps services to the hosts running them. Datadog is widely adopted in cloud-native engineering organisations that need a managed alternative to self-hosted observability stacks.

Datadog Fundamentals CertificationDatadog Use Cases
- Monitoring CPU, memory, disk, and network metrics across cloud and on-premises infrastructure from a single unified dashboard
- Tracing distributed requests across microservices to identify which service or database query is responsible for increased response times
- Correlating application logs, metrics, and traces in a single view to diagnose and resolve production incidents more quickly
- Configuring alerting policies that notify on-call engineers through PagerDuty or Slack when error rates or latency cross defined thresholds
- Tracking deployment impact by comparing application performance metrics before and after each release using change tracking markers
