Google Cloud Platform
Running data, machine learning, and application workloads on Google's cloud infrastructure
Google Cloud Platform is a suite of cloud computing services operated by Google, offering compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, and machine learning infrastructure. GCP is particularly strong in data and AI — BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub are used heavily by data engineering and machine learning teams for large-scale data processing and model training. Application teams use App Engine, Cloud Run, and Google Kubernetes Engine to deploy containerised workloads without managing underlying servers. GCP is the third-largest cloud provider by market share and is the default cloud for organisations with a deep Google Workspace or Android ecosystem dependency. It appears most frequently in OccuVista's corpus in data science, ML engineering, and cloud infrastructure roles.

- Running large-scale SQL analytics and data warehouse queries on BigQuery without managing any database infrastructure or storage capacity
- Training and deploying machine learning models using Vertex AI, with managed compute, experiment tracking, and model serving pipelines
- Building event-driven data pipelines using Pub/Sub and Dataflow to ingest, transform, and route streaming data at scale
- Deploying containerised applications on Google Kubernetes Engine with managed control planes and integrated logging and monitoring
- Managing cloud costs and resource quotas across projects using the GCP Console billing and budget alert tooling
