Python
Scripting, automating, and building applications across data, web, and infrastructure
Python is a general-purpose, interpreted programming language with a syntax designed for readability and a large standard library supplemented by a vast ecosystem of third-party packages. It is used across a wider range of roles and domains than almost any other language — data scientists use it for analysis and machine learning with NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn; backend engineers use it to build web services with Django and FastAPI; DevOps and platform engineers use it to write automation scripts and infrastructure tooling; and security professionals use it to build exploits, scanners, and analysis tools. Python's minimal syntax barrier and the depth of its libraries mean it is often the first language taught and the scripting language of choice for roles that are not primarily programming roles.

PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (+ PCAP and PCPP tracks from Python Institute)Python Use Cases
- Writing data analysis and transformation scripts using Pandas and NumPy to clean, reshape, and summarise structured datasets
- Building REST APIs and web services using frameworks such as Django or FastAPI that handle routing, serialisation, and database interaction
- Automating operational tasks including file processing, system monitoring, API calls, and scheduled report generation
- Training and evaluating machine learning models using scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow on structured and unstructured data
- Writing test automation, build scripts, and infrastructure tooling that runs as part of CI/CD pipelines or DevOps workflows
